The
joint tasks of a prophetic lifestyle and responsibilities are vastly different
to that of the Old Testament prophet.
The
bible is quite clear - responsibilities do not go before lifestyle.
Lifestyle
is most easily spelled out by a check list that Bill Hamon put together as the
10 M’s in life mentioned earlier on (refer to the Prophetic Equipping Training
Manual – or email info@pem.co.za).
The
most significant pre-requisite to the lifestyle of a prophetic minister is to BE HOLY
Besides
this prophets and prophetic ministers need to:
The
lifestyle of a prophet is brought into balance and maturity through the
discipline and training of actually working in the calling.
The
prophetic training of the prophet brings the discharge and function of
responsibilities to front.
Some
points recognised in the prophetic training process are:
1. Generally training is done in a school
or under the discipline of an older prophet.
2. The Holy Spirit is always the teacher,
Jesus is the anointer, and God is the caller.
3. Usually
there will be a lack of local support and often a cutting and separating
process. This can come from God, family,
church leaders and community.
4. “Name
any of the natural successes - sex, communication, intelligence, friendships,
and if the Lord has not already smashed it in His servants until all their
confidence is in Him alone, He soon will.”
The Elijah Task. By John & Paula Sandford.
5. Death to self so that the
6. The prophetic is the ministry that
scripture commands to be coveted (1 Corinthians
7. Prophets are trained to make the people
ready (Ephesians
8. Prophets are trained to lay
foundations.
9. Prophets are trained to prepare the
bride for the return of Jesus.
10. Prophets are trained to be matured for
ministry, trained to reign and schooled to rule.
11. The
whole five fold ministry are equipped to bring maturity, but the New Testament
prophet is trained to deliver the Word of God, to teach the Word of God and to impart
the anointing to others to hear the voice of God.
12. Prophets are trained to restore all
things (Matt 17; 9-13)
We all
need to press on to maturity in Christ and to feed on the meat of the word
instead of the milk. This process
differs in regard to the calling and function of ministry yet it all comes
under the same evidence of fruit that is seen in mature Christians.
The
fruit of the Holy Spirit – Galatians 5: 22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, long‑suffering, kindness, goodness, fidelity, meekness and
self‑control.”
The
lifestyle of the prophet is to bring God the glory while displaying God’s power
through signs, wonders and the revelatory gifts. At the same time they bring change to
communities and restore all things by commission from God.
Not all
prophets and prophetic ministers have the same responsibilities.
Different
types of prophetic responsibilities are:
1. Local
church prophet and/or market place prophet and/or prophetic minister.
2.
National
church prophet/s and/or market place prophet/s and/or prophetic minister.
3.
International
church prophet and/or international market place prophet and/or prophetic
minister.
Some
responsibilities are:
To
deliver the Word of the Lord through:
