PROPHETIC EQUIPPING MINISTRY SUBMITS TO LOCAL CHURCH AUTHORITY

Hebrews 13:17

"Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.  They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you."

§         To Maintain credibility and integrity the prophet and prophetic minister needs to be accountable.

§         The prophetic should function in a balanced freedom both in the local church, in the body of Christ internationally and in the market place.

§         Prophets and prophetic ministries should never work alone.

§         Due to insecurities of prophets and prophetic ministers, as well as pastors and church leaders, we have a poor functioning and working relationship.

§         It would be ideal for each local church to have a functioning five-fold ministry team working from within the covering of the local church and reaching to the unreached areas of society.

The way Prophetic Equipping Ministry works in regard to Hebrews 13;17 is as follows -

1                    We minister with freedom –

a.       On Authority - with local church blessing.

b.       Under Authority - in relationship to local church leadership

c.       From Authority - recognition from local church leadership

2                    Prophetic Equipping Ministry (PEM) works closely with the local church leadership.

3                    We minister as watchmen/watch-women on the gates of the local church.   This is to keep watch for the protection and the blessings that are coming.

4                    We work with leadership and minister in teams.

5                    We are sent from our local church. (Acknowledged - blessed - supported). - This does not mean the local church takes ownership of the ministry or are responsible of the short comings of the prophetic ministry. - It does mean that the local church leadership has a freedom to speak into our lives personally and into the ministry.

6                    A report back system is in place for maturity and development.  If necessary the correct procedure for discipline and correction occurs through local church authority. – This gives the hosting church freedom to report in email to the sending church on how we and the prophetic ministry was presented. – the report back letter is always presented to the hosting church after the ministry has taken place.

7                    When ministry takes place to strangers in the market place, it should always be submitted to them. - Remember they are potential Christians and need to be drawn to Christ and rebuked by the law, but rather drawn by love and grace. - Always give reference to your local church with contact details of either yourself or your local minister.

The churches greatest strength is when diverse gifts work together.  Working together is building the Kingdom of God and not a local ministry. Pastors and Elders will except the prophet and prophetic ministry, when there is the authentic power of God and His glory on the ministry and the life of the individual. Let us restore credibility and integrity into the PROPHETIC MINISTRY – I highly recommend you use a similar letter to the one we use at Prophetic Equipping Ministry.

Dear -----(name of hosting Pastor) ----

Thank you for the opportunity to have me minister with you.  I trust that you are well.

Thank you for the love gift.

This letter is sent to every church, once I have ministered there.   Please will you help me in responding to this by writing or e-mailing Jonathan Leach, Charles Barry, Len Weston and Sam Kiston, to whom I relate to in ministry (refer to details below). I have given them freedom to speak into my life.  This enables me to minister in the security that the enemy has no foothold and there is a platform of accountability.

In the letter that you write to them, you could possibly include information like:

  • How I conducted myself while in your church and in the meetings.
  • How was my homiletics?
  • The manner in which I minister - are there areas that can be improved on?  If so what are your suggestions.
  • Was a sound foundation on the prophetic ministry laid?
  • Was the manner in which the prophetic words delivered, doctrinally sound and culturally effective?
  • Would you consider having me back or even referring me to another church or ministry?

These are few a suggestions of what you could write on.
