Dedicate your business to God and taste the fruit of His blessing.

I pray this message challenges you and you are blessed through it.

The first three apostles that Jesus called to follow Him were businessmen.

§ James, John and Simon Peter (later called to be Peter) were partners in a fishing business. (Luke 5:10) They immediately took up the challenge – laid down their fishing nets and followed Christ. What is very interesting is that they never stopped fishing; they simply re-arranged their priorities. The primary purpose of their new structured business was now to do the Masters work and not merely abandonment of business as some people have taught. God was raising up apostles in the market place. The Lord’s first encounter with this business was to use it as a platform to preach from (verse 3) and then He blessed it, so much so, that the fruit was not just a harvest of souls, but also an abundant catch of fish. (verse7). They had an increase in their business, and had to call for help.

§ Many times, Jesus told Peter to keep the boat ready (Mark3:9) and used it to cross the sea (Matt.823).

§ It was in this boat that the storm was calmed and when it was time to pay taxes, Jesus told Peter to go fishing. (Matt. 17:24-27) Miracle after miracle was performed through this business.

God wants to do the same in your company and with your business. You have been called of the Lord to minister in the Market Place. I have met so many who are called into the five fold ministry and yet are called to remain in the market place. Remember, Jesus did not call Peter, James and John out from the temple to follow Him. They where in the market place and were called to remain in the market place to preach.

What is interesting is that when Jesus told Peter, James and John to follow Him. He did not say to them give the boat away – burn your nets – stop working. There was no conversion of the business, except for the conversion of those in the business. Even after the death and resurrection of Jesus, Peter returns to the boat for some fishing, and again the Lord blesses his business with a large catch.(John 21;6)

I pray that the Lord will give you wisdom and strategy to impact your community with His Word. When James, John and Peter had the WORD of GOD come into their business, they experienced a sharp increase to the value of life. They were not just fishermen, they became fishers of men. Today we have people who are qualified in their field, yet frustrated because they are not fulfilled in serving the Lord. I believe that the Lord wants to complete you in Himself and give to you the job satisfaction that is yours.

Let your company, board of directors, and you personally become a Peter, a James or a John for Jesus.

Ask the Lord today to open the windows of Heaven over you as you draw near to Him. When Peter, James and John followed, then the Lord blessed them.
